Anti-Amnesty Bill Letter to Senator Martinez

Friends:
I just sent a message to my "conservative" Republican Senator regarding this latest compromise of our national security. . . . I mean the latest amnesty bill. . . . I mean the latest "immigration reform." Here is the body of the message:

Senator Martinez:

I am mad as hell about this amnesty bill you are supporting. I am a lawyer who has been a public defender and has been practicing for 25 years in Florida. I am the great-grand child of legal immigrants. I am all in favor of immigration, as long as it is legal.

You, sir, are no conservative (as the local media has been reporting). Your effusive support of this compromise immigration bill is a clear indication of that. And the bill is just that: a compromise of our national security. You guys are trying to bale out the sinking boat without fixing the leaks, first. That is a loosing effort, as is this crap legislation you are supporting. We do not need a new compromise of our national security, we need you to stand up for strong enforcement of the laws that we have on the books. Recent history tells us that the kind of amnesty you are supporting does not work. I recall the Simpson-Mazzoli bill of 1986 was supposed to solve the problem when we supposedly had only 1.2 million illegal aliens in this country. It turned out we had over 4 million illegal aliens that received amnesty. I know you will not call it amnesty, because you are handcuffed by leftist political correctness there in leftist land (D.C.), but rewarding criminals by giving them legal status and a path to citizenship is clearly amnesty, in mine and a great number of other citizens' opinion.

Furthermore, any bill that has the support of Ted Kennedy is immediately suspect. It is clear that you and your colleagues do not care about the best interest of this country and its citizens. You seem to be more concerned about what La Raza and the other anti-American special interests groups want. ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE CRIMINALS!!! We want them prosecuted when they are caught. We want them deported when they are caught. We want all law enforcement agencies to be required to inquire as to everyone's status, if they have suspicions. We want sanctuary cities abolished. We want the illegal aliens prohibited from draining and damaging our legal system, our welfare system, our school systems, our hospitals and health care systems. We want the businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens to be punished severely. We want illegal aliens to be prohibited from renting or owning property, or obtaining driver's licenses or other forms of legal identification. We want the wall to keep the illegal aliens out. WE WANT THE BORDERS LOCKED DOWN TIGHT, IMMEDIATELY, as they should have been on September 12, 2001! We want the handcuffs taken off the Border Patrol, ICE and INS. We want U.S. prosecutors to stop criminally prosecuting border patrol members for doing their job. We want our leaders to stop coddling law breakers.

Unfortunately, sir, you have been corrupted and have succumbed to the leftist speaking points regarding illegal aliens. You are ignoring that they are criminals, first. We don't care how long they have been here and how much they have supposedly "contributed" to our society. Their being here, illegally, represents a fundamental and complete disregard for our nation's laws and sovereignty. All of the supposed "good" the illegals have done since sneaking into the country does not change this fact. If you are truly concerned about the plight of the illegal aliens, especially those from Mexico, then you should be trying to figure out ways to put pressure on Mexico to fix their own problems, AFTER THE BORDER IS SEALED!!

If you are truly conservative and concerned about this nation's interests and its security, you need to immediately withdraw your support for this amnesty bill and support the House Bill passed in the last session.

Edmund Burke said: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

It is time for all good citizens to get up and do something about this destruction of our country which our elected leaders are supporting.

Edmund Burke also said: "No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little."

Let's all get up and do a little to change this betrayal by our elected officials.

God Bless You.

Another Edmund Burke Quote of Note

No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.

In other words, every little bit helps, to solve our problems.
